Injured Stricker to miss Players Championship

05/03/2010 - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - World No. 3 Steve Stricker has withdrawn from this week's Players Championship due to a right shoulder injury.

Stricker last attempted to play two weeks ago at the Zurich Classic, but withdrew before the tournament started. There is no official timetable for his return.

The 43-year-old won three events last year and also won the Northern Trust Open earlier this season. Stricker, an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour, was replaced in the field by Spencer Levin.
